About Friendship

THE PERFECT FRIEND
©
S.J. McGrath

I thought I had found the perfect friend,
But it only took about a week for that to end,
I thought there was hope left in my life,
But as it turns out, it was only added strife,
I thought for once I had done something right,
But I quickly corrected that oversight,
I thought I wasn’t useless or a bore,
But I was all that and even more,
I thought there was a purpose to my days,
But that was only a very short phase,
I thought you weren’t like all the rest,
But like those before, you failed the test,
I thought you would stay with me, at least for a bit,
But you decided it was better just to quit,
I thought life was worth living for a moment in time,
But the life I wanted could never be mine,
I thought the hunger inside had been fed,
But now I know, I was just being misled.
And now I think I’ve found another perfect friend,
How long before my heart is broken again?

Medical Tourism in India

Medical Tourism or Health Tourism means patients visit another destination for treatments / surgeries. International patients consider India a the most preferred destination for Medical Tourism. India is also considered to be the second most popular destination for Medical Tourism. They prefer India mainly becoz of two reasons, one is the cost effectiveness and the other is for the India offers state-of-the-art Hospital. India offers the World Class Medical facilities comparable with any of the Hospitals in the World and most competitive doctors.

If you look into the cost effectuality in India, it is not really cheaper getting their treatment done in India. Due to the current favorable Rupee/Dollar/Euro exchange rate overseas clients can take advantage of the feeble currency and they are expected to save around 50 – 60% over the same treatment compared to their country, yet with no compromise on the Quality of service. For eg. the estimated cost for a heart surgery in the U.S is $26,000, however the same could be performed India for about $6,000. Similarly, a bone marrow transplant could cost about $2,50,000 in the US while it could be done here for about $40,000.

Cost effectiveness has attracted huge number of International Patients to India and Recession is one of the magnitude, for boom of medical tourism in India. But other factors, too, have contributed to the growth of medical tourism in India. "Indian clinical and paramedical talent is globally appreciated. Statistics show that the medical tourism industry in India is worth $333 million (INR 1,450 crore) while a study by CII-McKinsey estimates that the country could earn INR.5,000-10,000 crore by 2012. Government has also introduced various policy measures to promote Medical Tourism in India.

“Our Boss Mr. AKP”

Our Boss Mr.AKP an unpredictable and eccentrically characterized holy ghost on the earth :) :) :) who introduces himself as Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jason Statham!!!! A lovely person to work with lot of patience, never to scold at a high tone!!! at the same time should have double the amount of patience working with him !!!!

  • A person who has the attitude to people, who shows the mildest of the mild attitude!
  • A person who is known for his imprecise and never to appreciate nature!!
  • A person who is most disorganized, yet is successful in his work!!
  • A person who is unbearably bad in returning the calls / messages… or rather never picks up the call ..........
  • A person who is a puzzle by himself!!!
  • One word to describe AKP – KADDUS / WICKED / ARROGANT / IMPECCABLE /EGOTISTIC / UNINFLUENCED / BULL HEADED / EXCEPTIONAL / SELFLESS / GLOBETROTTER /ABSOLUTE,,,,,,,,, ooooops…. I just couldn’t JUST stop!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;)

YET WE ALL LIKE HIM AND ADMIRE HIM…… FOR THE WONDERFUL PERSON IN HIM!!!!!!!!!!!

More than an Adventurous trip for a woman…

We had planned for a trip to Sikkim and booked our tickets 3 months ahead… The day had come, our departure day!!! Me 'n my colleague excited of our trip met at the Bangalore airport to board flight to Kolkata and from there we had a connecting flight to Bagdogra. We boarded the flight with full excitement and reached Kolkata. Both of us were resting as we had time to board our flight to Bagdogra. Just then we had a call telling our flight to Bagdogra was cancelled L…. Both of us tried to check if there are any other flight on the same day, unfortunately NO!!!

We quickly got the endorsement on the ticket for the refund and tried to book the train to NJP, as we did not want to miss the Tsangu lake trip which was schedule the next day morning! Unfortunately both of our Hindi was also bad… We managed to book the train ticket in the counter at the airport for 7.45 pm. Later we decided we would hire a taxi and do a half day city tour and then get dropped at the Sealed railway station.

We booked a taxi at the prepaid taxi counter at the airport… both of us came out of the airport. A gentlemen pulled the slip from my hand and said ‘Taxi madam’ and pulled the bag from my hand and started walking fast or rather running… We got scared and started running behind him. He stopped near a taxi and said this is the taxi. We thanked him, he smiled and asked for money :) …. Becoz he had brought our bag till the taxi!! We both were alone did not fight, we just paid him..

The taxi was in such a BAD condition, it was like the driver has brought this taxi directly from the salvage!!! Seats were so dirty, the driver himself was very DIRTY! There was an other guy who got into the vehicle beside the driver. We told the driver / rather the driver’s friend about our plan of half day sightseeing and drop to Sealed station… We agreed upon an amount and started around 1.30 pm. Till 3 0’clock we were in the taxi only not take us to any place. We both were so hungry, I communicated in my hindi that we r hungry and take us to a restaurant…. Only then we realized this driver does not know any language other than Bengali L !!!! Since we were hungry I managed to explain in action that we r hungry to take us to a hotel [ imagine :)].

After lot of ghumana he stopped in front of a posh Mall…. We could find only a KFC, we rushed to the door, since it was full the security did not allow us to enter asked us to wait outside….. We fought with him and got a seat inside, we enjoyed the KFC meal so much as we hv never had in our life. The only sightseeing place he took us was the Victoria War Memorial.. he dropped us there and said would be back around 4 pm. We went to take the entry ticket and found that the War Memorial is closed J .. We went and sat on the park, we could only see couples of all ages romancing. After some time we walked out and sat on the wall as we were too tired. As time passed it was already 4 passed and could not find the driver as our luggage was in the taxi L. Every 2-3 minute we were looking at the watch and waiting for him. It was 4.20 pm we were taking the taxi slip thinking if he does not turn up we would give a complain in the police station. We could see a dirty taxi landing and that was our taxi….We had our smile back on our face and started. Gud friend of ours had organized a nice boutique hotel for us to fresh ‘n up and rest. After that we had started to the station, suddenly my 6th sense started working and we asked the driver how long will it take to reach sealed station… he said ‘ its too far from here and in another 10 mints we will reach Howrah station’ . We told him we hv to go to sealed station…. My God he started scolding us in Bengali and said we would not reach the station on time. Added to our bad luck there was heavy traffic jam on that road. We told the driver, if he takes us to the station on time we would pay him extra, at this time we recollected all the God and goddess ( both Christian / Hindu God )…

I think 1% of luck worked out and we got to the station just 10 mns before departure.
We grabbed our bags and started running inside the station like mad, train was about to move and we got into the train. In the train we brought one pack of biscuit and bottle of water for our dinner. Our bad luck continued we had run short of change we did not hv change to buy any snack on the train. See us an elderly couple brought us 2 samosa for both of us, we thanked God and ate that. Added to it our train was delayed by 3 hrs :) …

On reaching the station we found a gentle man holding a placard and waiting for us at the station :) ……… Here on the trip went on well। Even though we had to face all these problems, no point of time we regretted। We enjoyed our trip including the Bangalore to Bagdogra travel :) :) :)……..
